Niacet

Niacet Corporation boasts the largest capacity in North America for producing metal acid salts such as sodium acetate, sodium diacetate, and calcium propionate. It uses its experience and expertise to develop and maintain the dominant market share on its products.

In 1924, Niacet began operation in Niagara Falls, New York with its first semi-commercial chemical plant, manufacturing acetylene. Since then, Niacet has become one of only two US producers of monochloroacetic acid and the world’s largest producer of SPA.

Among its many products, Niacet manufactures Niaproof® specialty surfactants which are used in metal treating, fountain solutions, and latex emulsions

Niaproof Anionic Surfactants


	Niaproof Anionic Surfactants are alcohol sulfates that are ideal for hot alkaline or hot acid solutions. These chemistries work well for the strongest acids, salt solutions, alkalies, and oxidizing systems. These specialty surfactants are used mainly in metal treating, fountain solutions, and latex emulsions. In metal treating, Niaproof Anionic Surfactants are coupled with alkali to produce a surface that is cleaner and works more rapidly than alkali alone. Also, in latex emulsions, it is the preferred emulsifier for the polymerization of acrylic ester monomers and vinyl esters of higher fatty acids. Other applications include pharmaceuticals, household and industrial cleaners, and carpet cleaning.
